CPCS Training/Assessments and NVQs

hsef - CPCS Training - Accredited Provider

The Construction Plant Competency Scheme (CPCS) was launched in 2003 replacing the CTA Scheme and is now the main standard for Plant Operators, proving that they have the necessary qualifications and experience, and have passed the Health and Safety test to operate plant safely.

A board of employers and industry bodies such as; The Construction Federation, The Construction Plant-Hire Association (CPA) and The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) manage this scheme.

The courses we cover under CPCS will, on completion, gain the candidate either a Red Trained Plant Operator Card if achieved through an Intermediate Certificate (IC).  This would be the case when the candidate has limited experience or requires further training. Candidates can achieve a Blue Competency Card if achieved through an NVQ.  This is gained if the candidate already has a Red Card and has logged over 300 hours in his/her logbook, they will then be put forward for an NVQ.
